This essay is a Commentary on Lucretius’ De rerum natura Book 5, lines 22-54. The Lucretian text has undergone detailed philological, linguistic, metrical, rhetorical and stylistic investigation.
The literary and/or philosophical sources, as well as possible followers, have not been ignored; furthermore an extensive bibliography has also been examined
