abstract:
In Campania, the aggregation of some municipalities plays an important role with respect to the elaboration of development strategies. The case study concerns the Local Development Agency "Costa del Vesuvio". This is a set of municipalities on the eastern side of the Gulf of Naples, with over 500,000 inhabitants. The Agency has an intense planning agenda in the area and should be considered a intermediate partner between the regional and municipal scale. In general, it should be noted that the intermediate formation of these Agencies represents a very interesting phenomenon since it favours the creation of an urban polycentrism that could balance the primacy of Naples.
