abstract:
The study is intended to analyze a passage of a treatise which belongs to the Qarmatian /Ism…‘†li tradition, Kit…b šaÞarat al-yaq†n (IV/X sec.), referring to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, as quoted in Qur. IV, 157.
In this passage the author gives an interpretation which strays from the common Islamic belief of the double in admitting Ism…‘†lism Jesus’s crucifixion. In so doing the treatise re/proposes the idea that Ism…‘†lism, or at least some of its sections, admitted the corruption of Jesus humanity but not that of His divinity, this times expressed in term of names and not of natures.
