abstract:
After an introduction on the general typology of converbs, the verbal forms that are used as converbs and as their functional equivalents are discussed in detail for three East Cushitic languages: Oromo, Saho and Afar. In addition to this a few remarks are added on similar phenomena in Somali and in Dullay.
