This Publication is the result of a significant and fruitful scientific synergy among the three Institutions: “L’Orientale” University of Napoli -Host-, “La Sapienza” University of Rome -Host-, and Beijing Foreign Studies University -Co-Host-. All three institutions have a long tradition of excellent studies and researches in Sinology. Specifically, about the historical dialogue between China and Europe, with particular attention to the role attended by the Jesuit missionaries in opening and deepening the Sino-European intercourse and cultural, scientific, and intellectual exchange, and with regard to this, Michele Ruggieri is certainly an outstanding pioneer of mutual comprehension and knowledge.
