Following the failure of the 2016 referendum on the constitutional reform proposed by the Renzi
government, the debate on legislative autonomy for regions with ordinary statutes has become a central issue between
the state and the regions. Law No. 615, introduced by Minister of Regional A,airs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli,
proposes the extension of regional autonomy in areas such as healthcare, environmental protection, ecosystems, and
cultural heritage. After a series of hearings and committee approval, the law was !nally adopted on June 19, 2024.
