The paper considers the origin of the Phocidian federal state and, in particular, its internal organization, to highlight the changes from the Classical period to the Hellenistic Age. It aims to demonstrate that the third century is characterized by a substantial continuity with the previous period, while the most significant changes can be seen in the second century.
