In this article some aspects of the travelogue of the first tour in Europe by the Persian Qajar king Nâseroddin Shâh in 1873 are described and analyzed. The description of European natural landscapes and impressions resulted in the Iranian traveler are among the particular aspects taken into consideration in this article. The travel diary of Nâseroddin Shâh is a rich trove of landscape descriptions that, highlighting the known and the unknown, helps to emphasize on the one hand impressions and feelings aroused in an observer who for the first time discovers a different and unknown world, and to compare on the other two seemingly distant and different worlds but unexpectedly for him very similar, at least on the landscape plan
