I soggetti della storia e i linguaggi della narrazione storica: il genere nella relazione educativa e nella didattica disciplinare

The text offers an overview of the issues concerning the didactics of women’s and gender history in Italy. Starting in the 1970s, a new reflection was begun that made visible women as subjects long marginalised by research and, hence, employed the category of gender. This reflection invested the instruments of knowledge, with the aim of revealing the false neutrality of history that had been written and handed down up to a certain point, of overcoming the rigidities of manuals and of bringing
the most recent results of historiographic research into teaching. The birth of the Società Italiana delle Storiche represented a fundamental step in this process, also for the conception of innovative didactic tools, within the framework of a wide-ranging reinterpretation of the educational relationship from a gender perspective.
