abstract:
The contribution illustrates one of the thematic strands of the volume of O. Cavallar and J. Kirshner, "Jurists and Jurisprudence in Medieval Italy. Texts and contexts", namely the role of gender in the socio-legal order and emphasizes the importance of law in addressing the history of gender identities and especially in promoting the history of masculinity.
