Ciencia ficción y ecocrítica: el caso de la novela Lágrimas en la lluvia de Rosa Montero

Human beings have shaped the planet where they live to such an extent that scientists claim that these actions have had irreparable consequences for ecosystems. These concerns have also reached the field of literature, which, like ecology, is interested in the environment and the relationship between humans and nonhumans.This article will first present the birth of Ecocritical Studies and their development in Spain. Then, it will reflect on the current literary forms most often used to address these issues and the affinities between the science fiction genre and ecocriticism, using the novel Lágrimas en la lluvia by Rosa Montero as a case study.
