abstract:
The article deals with the archaeological evidence of the earliest phase of the Aksumite culture (Proto-Aksumite, 4th-1st centuries BC) in the Aksum region, Northern Ethiopia. Both data provided by old researches and fresh evidence provided by ongoing projects are discussed and compared.
