Course Objectives

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of, explain, and be able to critically discuss issues of ethics as applied to interculturality and public action, and the relationship between the individual and collective dimensions.

Students will also be expected to be able to connect and interact the texts studied, identifying the connections between what they have learned and the issues at stake in reflecting on the human condition in the contemporary era.


ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

The training course aims to provide students with the knowledge and methodological tools necessary to understand and develop independent judgment on the issues raised.


ADDITIONAL EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES


Independent judgment:

Students must demonstrate the ability to develop critical and independent reasoning about the proposed texts, identifying the common thread of the program as a whole while maintaining focus on the differences between the reflections presented by the various authors.


Communication skills:

Students must demonstrate the ability to communicate with proper language and appropriate terminology the content learned in class and through the study of the indicated texts and teaching materials made available by the instructor through UNIOR communication channels.


Learning skills:

It is hoped that at the end of the course, students will be able to construct and support complex arguments concerning the topics of the course using a critical and interdisciplinary approach.


Course Prerequisites

It is useful for students to have a basic knowledge of history and the history of contemporary thought.


Teaching Methods

 The course will be delivered through lectures. Supplementary materials will be made available to explore the course topics in greater depth.


Assessment Methods (2)

The exam consists of: oral exam

Language of the exam: Italian; the assessment is expressed in 30ths.

Assessment criteria: During the oral exam, students must demonstrate their ability to analyze and synthesize, their correct and appropriate use of terminology, and show that they have developed critical thinking on the topics covered in the course by discussing texts and authors.
