Abstract:
The article examines the political actions of David IV the Builder, the King of Georgia between 1089 and 1125, on the basis of mainly historical-narrative sources in Georgian, Armenian and Arabic. We specifically consider the ruler’s attitude towards diversity, attempting to establish

monarchy founded on divine right.
