La politique tweetée ou de l’art de faire passer ses idées en 140 caractères

Abstract:
Launched twelve years ago, Twitter is today an enormous inter-discursive and dialogic space, whose media potential was quickly understood by politics, that integrated it into their communication strategies, by recognising the importance of this platform in which new discursive and inter-discursive rules have to be respected, as well as conversational formulas characterized by implicit and cultural or even intercultural inference. This study focuses on two main questions: would political communication on Twitter be a “entre-deux”? Would it be brachylogical? To answer to these questions, this analysis, based on a corpus of tweets produced by Marine Le Pen’s account during the 2017 presidential elections, identifies some linguistic and discursive characteristics of political communication on Twitter.
