Abstract:
The article aims at analysing the traditional link between Naples and its markets in the light of the most recent changes that affected the commercial sector. Firstly, a brief introduction on the market areas is developed, focussing in particular on the underestimation of this form of distribution in the literature, notwithstanding it keeps attracting many consumers; secondly, an in-depth examination of the Neapolitan markets as places of consumption is offered, with particular attention on the role they assume today in the urban fabric.
