Hearths of the Iranian Area: A typological Analysis

The article is dealing with a proposal and a typological analysis of the numerous fireplaces and hearths found in the Iranian area from the Neolithic to the Achaemenian time, at the time of the work known and published. As the author clearly says, the premises of the work are connected to the possibilities of go back to the origin of the fire altar of the Zoroastrian religious ideology. This outline allows the author to make a long excursus on the excavations from the Plateau to the Central Asia (Margiana, Bactriana, Sogdiana etc.) where some regions will become the eastern satrapies of the Achaemenian time. In the meantime the article is also presenting an interesting classification of those structure divided for periods and geographic areas.
