Abstract:
This volume offers a journey through one of the most significant cultural, political, and economic crossroads of the Middle Ages. Through a concise and rigorous narrative, the author traces the history of Rus' from its origins to its fragmentation, exploring its social dynamics, institutions, and relations with neighboring powers: Byzantium, Europe, and the steppes of Asia. The text offers an overview of the events of Rus', from the Rurikid princes to Christianization, from trade routes to dynastic conflicts, painting a portrait of a complex society, a bridge between East and West, whose cultural and political legacy still resonates today. A read that allows us to understand the roots of Eastern Europe and the evolution of a state entity that made a decisive contribution to the European Middle Ages and beyond.
